Non-Union Pay Grade:
$22.00 - $25.00 Hourly Remote Tier 1:
Zero (0) days remote/week. Address the needs of site-specific staff by providing requested materials, program input, additional staffing support, and enrichment/activity feedback and guidance. Assist staff in the creation and implementation of activities, presentations, and field trips with a focus on cultural, nutritional, nature-based, academic and athletic components. Assist in the coordination and implementation of field trips and on-site enrichment presentations. Support site staff to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for a diverse group of participants. Report updates and observations at each site to Supervisor with the goal of continually improving policies, procedures, transitions, and program offerings. Manage time effectively between multiple program sites, as well as supervisory and administrative responsibilities. Ensure compliance with record-keeping, enrollment of program participants, incident reporting, and risk management across 5 program sites. Become familiar with and support adherence to all guidelines and procedures as they pertain to the Federally funded Summer Food Services Program (SFSP). Support quality dynamic programming and effective teamwork between staff at each site by reinforcing a positive and cohesive work environment, creativity, and adherence to BPRW policies and core values. Attend staff meetings and staff trainings as required. Maintain a safe area and report any deficiencies, incidents, or accidents to supervisor. Administer proper First Aid as required. Participate in the evaluation process. May require supervision of Recreation & Nutrition Staff. Position may require operation of City vehicle and/or personal vehicle to conduct City business. Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies. Elevated awareness of issues of social equity and justice with a commitment to continued learning as it relates to serving diverse communities in a manner that is respectful and aware. Valid Driver’s License. Operation of a City vehicle or personal vehicle to conduct City business without providing proof of a valid driver's license to Human Resources will not be permitted. A valid driver’s license shall be defined as a current state of residence-issued license to operate a motor vehicle on public roadways. Position also requires the ability to be covered under the City’s vehicle insurance policy prior to operation of any City vehicles or non-City vehicles for City business. Previous experience working with children in a group or individualized situation required. Associate’s or higher-level degree in Education, Childhood Development, Family Studies, Recreation Management or a similar field. Experience supervising staff. College course work in Education, Childhood Development, Family Studies or Recreation Management preferred. Ability to supervise and organize groups of children for activity programs. Ability to deal effectively with discipline problems, co-workers and supervisors. Knowledge of safety principles and practices as they apply to group activities. Knowledge of a variety of recreation/leisure activities and group games. A cooperative attitude and a team player. Enthusiasm, patience, a desire to work with children and creativity.
