IT Support Specialist
for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.
Work arrangement:
Onsite W2 position; 6 months, with possibility of extension Public sector/government experience is required Position description:
The IT Support Specialist will assist in a large laptop refresh project, performing imaging, preparation, and deployment of laptops and desktops. The primary objective of this project is the imaging, configuration, and deployment of 600 laptops and 23 desktops to staff across the state's Judicial Branch. This initiative supports the Judicial Branch's ongoing efforts to modernize its IT infrastructure and enhance user productivity. Key activities and responsibilities:
Device Imaging:
Utilize approved imaging tools and software to install standardized operating systems and core applications on each device. Ensure imaging aligns with security policies and system configurations. Validate successful imaging through system checks and quality assurance protocols.
Preparation and Configuration:
Apply required system updates, software installations, and security patches. Configure user accounts, domain joins, network settings, and device management tools as per SCJB IT standards. Label and inventory all devices for tracking and assignment.
Deployment:
Coordinate with IT to schedule device rollouts across various judicial branch locations. Provide onsite or remote setup assistance to end-users during deployment. Offer initial user support to ensure successful handoff and adoption.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed logs of device status, imaging completion, configuration steps, and deployment dates. Report progress, challenges, and completion milestones to project leads and IT management.
Team Collaboration:
The laptop project team will work in close coordination with IT Help Desk and Network staff to ensure all devices meet operational standards. Team members are expected to follow IT policies, adhere to data privacy regulations, and maintain a high standard of professionalism and efficiency throughout the deployment process.
