The City of Dickinson is hiring aSolid Waste Operatorto play a vital role in our community’s cleanliness and environmental sustainability. You’ll operate specialized equipment and collection trucks, support waste and recycling operations, and help ensure our neighborhoods stay safe, clean, and thriving.
Salary: $23.53 - $25.98 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, collection trucks, and tools used for waste collection, disposal, and recycling
- Assist in processing and preparing solid waste and recyclables for transfer or disposal
- Monitor material collection and disposal at the landfill and transfer facility
- Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and facilities; assist with major repairs as needed
- Support litter control, snow removal, and water management efforts at the landfill
- Collaborate with other departments and perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D.)
- Valid Driver’s License ND Class B CDL preferred but not required
- Two years of related experience preferred but not required
