$20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience Summary: Join our dedicated team at UCHealth as an Ophthalmic Care Assistant, where you will play a vital role in assisting eye care providers and ensuring an exceptional patient experience. You will be instrumental in enhancing clinical activities and ensuring the proper care and usage of medical instruments. Responsibilities: Assist eye care providers with direct patient care under supervision. Conduct basic optometric testing procedures and diagnostic tests, and administer medications as delegated by the eye care provider. Support minor procedures and manage the prescription refill process as directed. Document patient information, educate patients, and enter charges while assisting with the flow of patient care. Utilize critical thinking skills and independent judgment to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Completion of the Ophthalmic Medical Assisting Independent Study Course or JCAHPO Career Advancement Tool (JCAT) within 2 years of hire. Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification within 30 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification; valid BLS or CPR card from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required prior to start date.
