401 PALMETTO ST, New Smyrna Beach, 32168 The role you’ll contribute: The Medical Laboratory Scientist I performs various laboratory procedures in assigned areas as licensed/certified. This involves analytical testing of blood and/or human biological specimens, requiring a moderate to high degree of knowledge and expertise. Responsibilities include pre- and post-analytical work processes, following policies and procedures, maintaining quality control, and participating in customer service and team relationships. On-call hours may be required. The value you’ll bring to the team: Performs pre-analytical activities such as equipment maintenance, specimen collection, and quality control Performs tests and analytical procedures accurately according to standards Reports results, including abnormal findings, following procedures Provides training and guidance to new employees and students Supports customer service and education efforts Qualifications: Associates' degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or related field, or equivalent education and training Licensure in appropriate specialty(ies) as applicable by state, or certification from ASCP, AAB, or AMT for non-licensure states Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field One year of clinical lab experience Job Location:
