What would you do as a CAD / PAD Project Engineer
The CAD/PAD Project Engineer at PTI Technologies plays a critical role in managing all facets of aerospace projects, ensuring excellence in design and execution. This position involves collaboration with a skilled team of engineers and technicians to develop, design, and test aerospace components. Responsibilities include project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, ensuring timely completion within allocated budgets and regulatory compliance. As an integral liaison among customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities, you'll troubleshoot technical issues throughout the project lifecycle. You'll engage in product design, assembly process development, and provide engineering solutions for CAD/PAD products. This role also demands reviewing and analyzing customer specifications, preparing technical proposals, and coordinating engineering programs from conceptual design to manufacturing. Additionally, you will evaluate design changes and maintain project logs to ensure adherence to safety standards and industry best practices. To excel as a CAD/PAD Project Engineer at PTI Technologies, candidates must possess a diverse skill set tailored to the aerospace industry. Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal departments. A solid understanding of Aerospace and Military standards, along with the ability to read blueprints and perform GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis, is crucial. Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms, as well as hands-on design experience with mechanical, electro-mechanical, and hydraulic components, is required. Candidates should also be familiar with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools like Enovia, TeamCenter, or Windchill. Strong mathematical and analytical skills are vital, enabling engineers to interpret test data, conduct engineering calculations, and support qualification and failure analysis. Familiarity with qualification standards such as MIL-STD-810 and DO-160 will further enhance success in this role. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering, coupled with 5-10 years of relevant experience, is preferred. Get started with our team!
