This is a unique opportunity to work as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate on a pioneering project aimed at integrating AI-driven solutions into marine environmental monitoring systems. The Associate will be embedded within MSeis Limited, working closely with industry and academic experts to develop real-time detection and classification models for marine mammals and floating anomalies. The role provides hands-on experience in AI, machine learning, and computer vision while driving innovation in offshore environmental protection. You will also be responsible for managing and delivering this 24-month project against the agreed objectives. This will maximise the benefits of the Partnership to (MSEIS), the academic team and University, whilst gaining valuable person development and industrial experience Key Objectives of this project: • Become familiar with personnel and analytical equipment at MSEIS and likewise at the university. • Gain an in-depth understanding of MSeis’s products, client base, environmental challenges, and AI integration opportunities. • Develop AI models for real-time detection of marine mammals using dual-sensor (thermal-optical) camera systems. • Optimise and integrate multimodal sensor data into AI-driven detection frameworks. • Collaborate with the University of Plymouth team to refine machine learning models for offshore applications. • Implement real-time object recognition and tracking, ensuring performance in dynamic marine environments. • Support knowledge transfer by training MSeis engineers in AI-driven methodologies. • Conduct field trials and validate AI-powered detection systems against industry benchmarks. • Document research findings, contribute to academic publications, and participate in dissemination activities.
