Job Overview Polar Mechanical Inc is urgently hiring a skilled Advanced Refrigeration Technician with experience in supermarket and commercial refrigeration. This position is ideal for a technician who can hit the ground running but is open to learning Polar's highly respected methods. You'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration systems across Southern California. Diagnose and repair supermarket and commercial refrigeration systems including compressors, ice machines, evaporative condensers, HVAC units, and more. Perform preventive maintenance to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime. Travel throughout Southern California as needed to meet service demands. Accurately complete service reports, maintenance logs, and other required documentation. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Communicate effectively with customers and maintain strong client relationships. Comply with OSHA safety protocols and ensure all work meets required standards. Qualifications
Mandatory: EPA Universal Certification Minimum 2 years of refrigeration experience (supermarket experience strongly preferred) Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record Proficient in diagnosing and servicing commercial refrigeration systems Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics Strong problem-solving skills and customer service orientation Physically able to climb ladders, lift 50 lbs, and work in high-temperature environments Willingness to travel and work varied shifts High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching Weekly Pay Cycle Paid Time Off - holidays, vacation, and sick leave Travel per diem for project-related travel Company provided phone Uniforms and Safety Gear Provided Ongoing Training & Certifications - OSHA, Manufacturer Training, Fall Protection, Lift Certification, and more Mentor Support for Career Growth Company Events - BBQs, holiday parties, and more Schedule
