Principal/Director Structural Engineer (Building envelope/Structural Diagnostics)

Your New Role:
- The role will also focus on providing technical leadership in the areas of investigation, rehabilitation, and design of building enclosure systems on historic and contemporary structures.
- Managing a devison and group of junior engineers
- Provide technical direction within investigation and rehabilitation design across historic and contemporary structures.
- Hone your expertise on waterproofing systems, including air/water barriers and fenestration.
- Cultivate key client relationships while responding to local market project opportunities/RFPs.
- Deliver exceptional service encompassing forensics, litigation support, and insurance matters.
What You Bring to the Table:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree backed by 10+ year's experience in building sciences focusing on enclosure technology.
- Field knowledge addressing site specifics and managing construction contracts effectively.
- Proven track record in business development and nurturing successful professional connections.
- Leadership history overseeing both expansive projects and smaller, intricate builds.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a leadership role, important to our growth in the Washington, DC, and mid-Atlantic markets immediately, with opportunities along the East Coast. The role will focus on the development of building enclosure consulting for new and existing buildings in the eastern US region. The role will also focus on providing technical leadership in the areas of investigation, rehabilitation, and design of building enclosure systems on historic and contemporary structures. This includes your specialized and focused experience in the design and integration of complex building enclosure systems, including waterproofing, air and water barriers, rain screen cladding, and fenestration systems. Additionally, you'll handle existing building repairs and rehabilitation's, develop client relationships, identify and respond to project opportunities and RFPs in the local market, and deliver building science services to clients with new and existing facilities, including forensics, litigation, and insurance.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent technical knowledge of building enclosure.
- Evaluate building enclosures and facades for commercial and multifamily residential properties, providing comprehensive investigative reports.
- Conduct roof condition assessments and water intrusion surveys, as well as manage inspections and monitoring for roof replacements and new installations. Perform water and air intrusion testing on fenestration systems.
- Work on projects involving various façade materials, including brick masonry, steel siding, curtain walls, window walls, and precast or cast-in-place concrete panels.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with clients, staff, and consultants.
- Ability to gather and diagnose information and assess conditions
- for multiple components.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and strong investigative aptitude, including the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose building inspections issues.
- Proven team player who fosters teamwork and cooperation.

Benefits and Perks:
The base salary range for this position is $160,000-$200,000+ annualized for a full-time role. Base salary is dependent on various factors, including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. You also will be eligible for discretionary incentives and share ownership.
Alongside this above the market bonus ranging from 10k-25k+
