University of Miami . The Miami Transplant Institute has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Donor and Perfusion Services Manager (H). The incumbent plans, organizes, and directs all organ procurement and perfusion services for the University of Miami Transplant Center (UMTC). Responsibilities include evaluating organ referrals, overseeing the donation process, coordinating surgical recovery, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and procedures. Core Job Functions
Provides continuous on-call coverage for organ procurement through the Donor Desk. Receives and records potential donor organ information from the OPO. Contacts physicians and communicates pertinent information accurately. Coordinates donor operations, including perfusion of harvested organs. Ensures smooth communication among team members during recipient operations. Completes and submits UNOS forms within required timeframes. Coordinates educational services regarding organ procurement policies and procedures. Assists with policy development and review to ensure compliance with OPTN and UNOS regulations. Manages Perfusion Machine Operations and supervises perfusion staff. Oversees donor procurement for UMTC in abdominal and thoracic transplants. Participates in training surgical and transplant fellows on procurement and donor management. Leads research collaborations on donor and perfusion projects. This list is not exhaustive and may include additional duties as necessary. Qualifications
Core Qualifications Medical Graduate or completion of a Surgical Assistant Program. Certified Surgical Assistant or ability to obtain certification within 180 days.
