We’re looking for a dynamic, well-connected sales leader to spearhead our production business development efforts—leveraging Pier59 Studios’ cutting-edge Production capabilities, unmatched facilities, and creative services to deliver premium experiences for top-tier clients in TV, film, fashion, Events and advertising.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and track all TV, fashion, commercial, and feature film projects projected to shoot in the NY market.
- Integrate new technologies into the sales process, with a focus on leveraging P59 unique Virtual Production offering for both shoots and events.
- Build and manage a robust production-focused sales pipeline through targeted outreach to producers, agencies, and content creators.
- Promote and package Virtual Production offerings alongside stage, equipment, creative, and postproduction services to maximize value for clients.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the competitive landscape across NY-based production studios and virtual production providers. Leverage industry relationships and intel to stay ahead of market trends.
- Lead project-based negotiations with clients, including pricing, scope of services, and production timelines, ensuring smooth onboarding and execution.
- Work in direct collaboration with the studio owner to evaluate and close key deals, ensuring strategic alignment on high-value productions. This role operates with executive-level access and input, placing you at the center of top-tier client conversations and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with executive producers, line producers, creatives, and entertainment decision-makers.
- Nurture ongoing relationships with current clients to ensure high satisfaction and long-term partnerships. Conduct post-project reviews to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
- Expand Pier59 Studios’ production service offerings into adjacent verticals such as automotive, sports, live broadcast, and branded content.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to craft messaging and campaigns that effectively communicate the studio’s technological and general strengths.
- Proactively explore new production revenue opportunities and service models when project volume or client needs shift.
- Ensure all project-related documentation—contracts, agreements, insurance, and technical requirements—are accurately completed and managed.
- In collaboration with Finance, contribute to production/booking revenue forecasting and reporting. Remain informed on all productions impacting financial projections.
- Represent Pier59 Studios at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Oversee productivity, effectiveness, and compliance with company policies of Bookings and Production staff.
- Develop and update protocols, guides, and manuals.
- Approve payroll, expenses, and PTO requests for the Bookings & Production Departments.
- Special projects as requested by Senior Management
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in film, media, communications, or a related field.
- Strong industry network, with established relationships across film, television, commercial, and digital content sectors.
- 8+ years of experience in media & entertainment, with a strong background in production or creative services.
- Proven success in sourcing, pitching, and closing production or creative service deals.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively with both creative and technical stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and opportunity creation.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident presenting to executive-level clients.
- Strong familiarity with production workflows, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery processes.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRM platforms (Hubspot Preferred), and project trackingsoftware.
- Knowledge of virtual production, VFX, postproduction, or content production management is a strong plus.
- Passion for innovation, storytelling, and building relationships in the production community.
