Job Description
Who We Are: As an independent division within Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Inc., ControlTech Automation (CTA) is a control panel integrator and fabricator for process, packaging, utility, and other industries. CTA is based in St. Louis and specializes in control panels for systems integrators and production facilities located throughout the United States. CTA provides control solutions for single pieces of equipment, entire processes, and complete plants. CTA has engineering design capabilities and builds panels from customer-supplied design packages.
What You'll Do: As our Final Inspection Lead, you'll lead a skilled inspection team to ensure every panel leaving our floor meets the highest standards for safety, quality, and performance. You'll drive process improvements, support training, and collaborate across departments to keep projects moving smoothly and our customers satisfied.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily final inspection operations, ensuring all products meet specs and safety standards.
- Oversee inspection procedures and continuously look for ways to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Review assemblies for function, completeness, and compliance before shipment.
- Document results, punch lists, and defects. Partner with manufacturing to resolve issues quickly.
- Develop, implement, and uphold quality control standards and best practices.
- Track and analyze quality data to spot trends and drive improvements.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and customers for smooth final approval.
- Provide training, mentorship, and support to the inspection team.
- Ensure inspection tools are calibrated and maintained properly.
- Serve as the key communicator between inspection and other departments.
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in electrical technology or technical certifications/coursework in electrical systems a strong plus
- 5+ years of hands-on electrical work experience (e.g., as an electrician, wireman, or electrical technician), including 2+ years with final inspection, testing, or QC responsibilities
- Solid understanding of electrical schematics, wiring standards, control panels, and UL/NEC codes
- Familiarity with inspection tools, documentation processes, and quality systems related to electrical assemblies
- Excellent attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, and strong communication skills
- Committed to safety, team-oriented leadership, and continuous improvement in a production environment
- Valid driver's license; able to lift up to 50 lbs
