Calvary Robotics is a growing Global Systems Integrator specializing in custom automated manufacturing systems in a variety of manufacturing industries. We are seeking a Controls Technical Manager to support our future growth.
This position will be a key member of the controls engineering team in leading the technical direction as set forth by leadership of the Controls Engineering department including but not limited to electro-mechanical design, software design, commissioning, and installation of industrial control systems for a wide variety of custom automated assembly, test and material handling machines/systems.
Interact with Director of Controls Engineering
Align goals and responsibilities Identify department needs and review current programs/initiatives Provide feedback regarding engineers' performance and abilities Participate in interviewing potential new hires Report status of projects
Projects
Assess projects technical requirements vs. budget, schedule, scope of work, and resources. Identify the functional requirements of the projects and guide project leads in the project planning phase in developing the basis for a hardware and software design and give the project teams a clear sense of direction Track project status, identify risks (Budget/Schedule) and develop risk mitigation strategy with project leads. Seek feedback from internal and external customers on areas to improve overall deliverable and customer satisfaction. Fill-in for project leads in their absence, if necessary. Conflict management in project teams. Assist with estimate and proposal of controls portion of some amendments to existing projects Actively participate in startup, commissioning and debug activities as necessary

Department Duties
Establish, develop, maintain, and continuously improve department training processes. Responsible for development, maintenance and compliance Calvary controls design standards and libraries Support development, implementation, and maintenance of Controls Engineering On-boarding Process.
This position will have direct reports to include Sr. Project Engineers, Project Engineers, Controls Engineers, Robotic Engineers and Vision Engineers

Requirements
Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, and/or other degrees / demonstrated industry experience. Minimum of 7 years Industrial Automation Industry/System Integrator Experience.
This will be required Minimum of 4 years Management Experience (preferred) Experience selecting and designing hardware to control and monitor industrial machinery and/or industrial processes Experience applying PLC-based programming languages to control and monitor industrial machinery and/or industrial process Experience integrating industrial devices. High degree of mechanical aptitude and spatial reasoning Systems engineering and project execution planning Risk based project management Basics of accounting, operations, marketing and supply chain management Knowledge of PLC/Robot based automation - Robotics, Motions control, material handling, conveyance, machine vision, testing, Process control. Preferred platforms - Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff Familiarity with relevant codes such as NFPA 79, NFPA 70, RIA 15.05, CE, UL 508a Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, AutoCAD, ePLan
Salary Description
$150,000-$175,000
