Seeking a highly experienced Quality Control Inspection Supervisor to lead a team of QC Technicians supporting electrical manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing the inspection of electrical assemblies including switchboards, panel boards, and power distribution units (PDUs) to ensure they meet strict UL 891, OSHA, Hazcom, and ANSI standards . The Supervisor will drive quality control strategy, oversee day-to-day inspections, support technical problem-solving, and promote continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and schedule QC Technicians performing inspections on electrical and mechanical assemblies. Set priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure consistent quality across shifts.
- Develop and maintain training plans, competency checklists, and skill matrices.
Electrical Inspection Oversight:
- Lead inspection processes on switchboards, PDUs (including AI-integrated systems), panel boards , and electrical panels. Verify compliance with UL 891, OSHA, ANSI, and customer-specific standards .
- Review and approve work instructions, inspection checklists, and procedural documentation.
Technical Documentation & Compliance:
- Ensure team completes accurate, timely quality documentation and inspection logs. Monitor and manage non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and compliance data.
- Coordinate with engineering and compliance teams to address quality concerns and regulatory updates.
Hands-On Support & Escalation:
- Provide technical support for electrical inspection issues, including analysis of copper buses, galvanized steel enclosures, and aluminum components .
- Troubleshoot product and process issues on the floor and escalate high-risk concerns as needed.
Safety & Culture:
- Promote and enforce safety procedures aligned with company and OSHA standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Process & Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor process consistency, identify deviations, and propose improvements.
- Lead or contribute to CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and Lean/5S initiatives.
Tooling & Calibration:
- Ensure test equipment and inspection tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical assembly or switchgear manufacturing quality control , with supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of UL 891, OSHA, Hazcom, and ANSI standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings , and technical specs.
- Experience inspecting and verifying PDUs, switchboards, and electrical panels .
- High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in electrical, quality, or technical field preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience with data center electrical products , including AI-based monitoring systems .
- Prior experience interacting with regulatory/certification bodies (UL, OSHA, etc.) .
- Knowledge of materials and components such as galvanized steel, copper, and aluminum .
