GENERAL PURPOSE:
Collaborating with the high school and middle school principals, direct and manage the athletic programs and facilities and instruct and coach students to develop skills and abilities to excel in athletics for both the Arlington and Cedar Hill campuses. Provide each student with the opportunity to participate in an extracurricular athletic activity and ensure compliance with all federal, state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and local requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PROGRAMS
- In collaboration with the campus principals, develop ongoing improvement plans for all athletic programs
- Seek options for expanding athletic opportunities for students
- Work with campus and district leadership to seek opportunities for improving the athletic facilities
SUPERVISORY
- Annually evaluate the members of the athletic staff
- Annually review the athletic facility emergency plan and submit adjustments as needed
- Ensure that all coaches conduct a preseason parents meeting
- Develop the schedule for on campus athletic observations
- Observe athletic staff at practices and contests and provide feedback for growth
- Coordinate the curriculum, assign the staff, and submit the appropriate financial paperwork for approval in relation to the summer strength and conditioning programs
PERSONNEL
- Work to provide professional development opportunities for the athletic staff
- Provide ongoing training in professionalism and curriculum for the athletic staff
- Assist the head coaches in the development of Character Training activities within their programs
- Assist the head coaches in the development of Relationship Building activities within their programs
- Work with Campus Principals to select and recommend athletic staff for hire
- Annually develop and lead the athletic in-service as required by the UIL
BUDGET / INVENTORY
- Annually develop and manage the budget(s) for the Athletic Department
- Submit athletic requisitions to the principal
- Coordinate the reconditioning and recertification process for middle school and high school helmets
- Annually solicit and review all athletic inventories
POLICY / REPORTS
- Coordinate the process for determining Trinity Leadership athletic eligibility
- Assist District Administration in Title IX coordination
- Study to continually increase your knowledge of the UIL rules
- Ensure that all UIL and TEA requirements for athletics are fulfilled
- Audit and file the financial game reports on a monthly basis for all Trinity Leadership contests
- Develop the Sports Procedure document for all middle schools
ATHLETIC EVENTS
- Employ officials, security, and support personnel for athletic contests
- Direct the process for ticket sales at athletic contests and review for accountability
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree with Master's Degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Current first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate
Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of overall operations of an athletic program
Knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
Knowledge of federal, state, and UIL policies governing athletics
Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical (include if bus driving duties are required) (preferred)
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Excellent public relations, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents, and staff
Experience:
5 years successful teaching and coaching experience, preferred
