Job Responsibilities
- Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients according to individualized medical and nursing plans, physician orders, and established policies and procedures.
- Provide nursing services to patients and families within the scope of the RN as defined by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
Job Specifications
- Education and/or experience: Current licensure to practice professional nursing in Tennessee. Competent in BLS and/or other specialized life support requirements. Healthcare experience preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of the scope of practice for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants. Knowledge of nursing process, infection control, safety precautions, and medication administration. Basic computer skills.
- Skills: Patient assessment, care planning, critical thinking, customer service, active listening.
- Abilities: Effective communication, relationship building, resourcefulness, assessment skills, patient and family education, sensory and cognitive processing, computer literacy, documentation, focus, organization, flexibility in hours and days.
Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care based on medical and nursing plans, physician orders, and policies, within the scope defined by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
