The Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America serves thousands of families in Metro-Atlanta with a nationally recognized leadership program based in the outdoors. With an operating budget of over $14 million, the Council has a diversified stream of revenue which includes funding from an annual operating campaign, six special events, corporate partnerships, planned giving, and other sources. The Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, located directly across from Truist Park, is seeking a Major Gifts Development Director to give leadership, direction, and support of our Major Gifts efforts. This position involves prospecting, cultivating, and stewarding major donors through a giving pipeline. If you have experience in non-profit fundraising or corporate sales, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction of the planning and execution of major gifts campaign. Research and identify prospective volunteers to serve on committee in a fundraising capacity. Actively research, identify, cultivate, and solicit new funding from major gifts donors. Identify clear transition plans for existing donors and prospects. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Lead stewardship events. Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance our development efforts. Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience. Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Demonstrated track record of successfully securing major gifts and developing sustainable donor relationships. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders. Proven experience in creating and executing successful fundraising campaigns and events. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities. Proficiency in donor management software and MS Office Suite. Benefits
