S2 Global, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work in its Torrance, CA location. S2 Global is the leading provider of turnkey, state-of-the-art screening solutions for inspection and security. The solution is based on three core elements: concept of operations, training, and software. This software is key to the solution and is highly unique to the industry. We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support deployments of our CertScan platform. You will be part of a systems engineering team responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. The Network Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and ensuring the stability and integrity of equipment used for data transmission networks, supporting continuous improvement using industry best practices. This includes planning, designing, and developing LANs and WANs across the organization. You will work both independently and as part of a team on the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of network hardware, software, and communication links. Additionally, you will analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems promptly and accurately. Responsibilities
Design and deploy regional LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs, and other hardware, ensuring redundancy and recovery procedures. Analyze network performance, troubleshoot issues, and independently make repair decisions. Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. Maintain and manage configurations, ensuring proper documentation and process adherence. Additional Responsibilities
Work closely with the customer’s IT team to meet and exceed compliance and design standards. Assess current network state against industry best practices, recommending improvements for throughput and failure reduction. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and processes for network administration and disaster recovery. Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors for network products and services. Manage hardware and software upgrades, configurations, and network performance monitoring. Ensure network connectivity for servers, workstations, telephony equipment, firewalls, and other appliances. Practice network asset management, including maintaining inventory and technical documentation. Participate in managing network security solutions and perform security audits. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, certifications plus related experience. 10+ years in networking and security, including VPNs, enterprise routing, and L3-7 switching. Technical knowledge of monitoring systems, network equipment, servers, virtualization, storage, and cloud experience (AWS) desirable. 5+ years in enterprise network design, firewall/switch technologies, MPLS/VPLS, QoS, and routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF). Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, and technical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams. Knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards including IPv6, and experience in capacity planning and security principles. Certifications
Preferred: ITIL Foundations v3, CCNA, CCDA, CCDP, CCNP, cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, Security+), Cisco, Fortinet, or industry standards. Other Requirements
Ability to work on-call, travel as needed, and pass background checks for government access.
