You will be part of our Experience Design team within the Digital & Process Transformation group. Our mission focuses on emerging technology, innovation, design thinking, and agile project delivery. We prioritize lean UX, emphasizing experience and thinking over delivering simple wires. You will work independently on projects, leading UX functions and acting as the UX expert. While creating delightful experiences, you'll explore emerging technologies like wearables, AR/VR, blockchain, LIDAR, and more. As a Senior UX Designer/Researcher, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions, and create cleaner air. Are you ready to help us build the future? Responsibilities
Lead or participate in user research activities, including design thinking workshops, interviews, contextual observation, and user testing, both formal and informal. Define, develop, and socialize a clear vision for innovative design and big picture thinking while maintaining speed of delivery. Confidently share and discuss design solutions with team members, stakeholders, and senior leaders. Work with the team to define project scope, milestones, timelines, and resource allocations, actively mitigating risks and challenges. Contribute to crafting and communicating design strategies and visions that inspire and motivate. Uphold design requirements and brand standards to create a unified design language across products. Create journey maps, personas, user flows, wireframes, motion studies, mockups, and prototypes. Contribute to user stories to communicate design intent. Leverage data such as analytics and user research insights to inform design decisions aligned with business goals. Incorporate user feedback into iterative design. Stay updated with design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, bringing innovative ideas to solutions. Ensure the protection of all assets and sensitive data, maintaining high standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications
Seven or more years of experience in UX design. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or related fields. Seven years of experience solving complex UX problems. Four years of experience communicating UX via flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams to achieve quality user experiences. Leading discussions with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to communicate UX and design. Leading UX discovery activities to understand project requirements. Designing and facilitating usability testing. Proficient in design & wireframing tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma) and prototyping tools (e.g., Invision, Figma, Sketch). Creating high-level artifacts (journey maps, experience maps, personas, flow diagrams, etc.). Additional Information
This position offers a hybrid work mode: reporting to an SCE facility for some days and remote on others. Residency in California is required. Details discussed during the interview.
