Godfrey Dadich Partners (GDP) combines strategy, journalism, design, marketing, and digital to build story-driven brands. Our group includes Upstatement, a digital product studio, and Ghost Note, a brand and community creative studio.
GDP seeks a multidisciplinary creative director to lead projects from brand campaigns to editorial storytelling, across digital platforms and motion.
The ideal candidate aims to build authentic audience connections, produce compelling stories, and leverage design as a strategic tool. They demonstrate craftsmanship, narrative clarity, and team leadership, inspiring teams to excel.
Fluency in AI-powered tools and workflows is increasingly essential, with a proven ability to integrate generative technologies ethically and effectively into creative processes.
This client-facing role is based in San Francisco.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading projects across various formats: branding, editorial, video, motion, social media, experiential, paid media, etc.
Creating and directing creative briefs, guiding artists to final illustrations that communicate stories effectively.
Mentoring and managing diverse creative teams, fostering an inclusive and inspiring work culture.
Understanding and integrating AI tools to enhance productivity and storytelling.
Utilizing AI tools in recent work, such as image generation and automated content creation.
Building client relationships based on trust and dialogue to deliver innovative work.
Delivering compelling presentations that articulate concepts and strategies clearly.
Advising on project scope and resourcing for optimal value and quality.
Collaborating with executive leadership on hiring and team development.
Working with studio leadership to develop business and communication systems.
Qualifications include:
10+ years in design, journalism, or advertising environments.
Experience in brand development and growth across various organizational sizes.
Proven people management skills, coordinating internal and external creative resources.
Excellent communication skills for complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Collaborative, organized, proactive, and resourceful approach.
Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, grids, and technical craft.
Passion for digital design, including accessibility, motion, and prototyping.
Experience with art direction for editorial and artist collaborations.
Understanding of digital experience design and working with web/product freelancers.
Fluency in Adobe CC, Figma, Keynote, G Suite; animation and film production skills are a plus.
