We Should Talk! As the
School Principal , you are responsible for increasing student achievement by ensuring the implementation of instructional practices and strategies endorsed by Ombudsman policies. You will supervise site staff to ensure quality instruction is delivered and Ombudsman policies and procedures are implemented effectively. This position oversees all site operations and functions as the liaison between the site and the school districts’ designated site contacts by establishing and maintaining positive working relationships. Providing vision and leadership to support student achievement and effective operations. Providing individual and group counseling sessions to address interpersonal or family issues that interfere with school performance. Participating in the employment process to ensure an effective site team is in place. Providing guidance to teachers in developing classroom schedules and maintaining student data systems. Consulting with teachers in the classroom on teaching students social, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Providing supervision by assigning work and monitoring employee effectiveness. Ensuring a safe learning environment for students and staff. Maintaining compliance with contract and state requirements. Performing managerial responsibilities including staff supervision and scheduling. Representing Ombudsman at community, district, and local levels. Communicating and collaborating with families and community members. Analyzing the professional development needs of staff. Demonstrating effective leadership and team building. Instructing and evaluating teachers and students. Maintaining accurate records of students' progress. Compiling and analyzing assessment data to measure student growth. Modeling and overseeing the implementation of instructional practices. Managing student behavior in accordance with Ombudsman policies. Participating in assurance and accreditation processes. Keeping up to date with research-based practices. Providing and responding to feedback. Working collaboratively with site team and support staff. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field. Meet all state and district requirements for appropriate licensing and/or credentials. Active certification and/or licensure in teaching or educational leadership preferred. Prior experience in alternative educational services for at-risk students. Effective management skills and knowledge of school operations. Prior experience in curriculum development and assessment. Prior experience in providing professional development to teachers. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Skilled in building relationships with students, parents, and community partners.
