Cooley is seeking an Antitrust & Competition Paralegal.
Position Summary The Antitrust & Competition Paralegal supports Cooley's attorneys who regularly represent corporate clients before agencies such as the US Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general, foreign antitrust enforcement agencies, and in antitrust litigation. Responsibilities include handling complex cases related to mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures, and issues like monopolization, restraint of trade, and unfair practices.
Position Responsibilities
Assist with research, drafting, and project management for antitrust risk assessments and other special projects.
Assist with the collection, preparation, review, and filing of submissions such as Hart-Scott-Rodino notifications, Second Requests, court filings, and document productions.
Conduct research on current events and ongoing cases; prepare summaries and internal/client alerts.
Collaborate with attorneys on thought leadership and commentary on key topics.
Develop expertise in document review tools (including Relativity) and manage internal knowledge resources.
Manage project deadlines, deliverables, and meetings; assist with document and information management.
Organize and maintain document management systems.
Draft communications related to antitrust topics for internal stakeholders.
Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation.
Partner with other practice groups on antitrust issues.
Support departmental initiatives, including research and review of court filings across the litigation department.
Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in public policy or related field.
2+ years of substantive work experience as a paralegal or legal project manager.
Availability to work overtime as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
Previous law firm experience.
Proficiency with the Bluebook.
Competencies

Proven initiative and ability to manage multiple projects with high quality and client service.

The expected hourly pay range is $36.00 - $49.00, based on experience and location, with an annual equivalent of $74,880 - $101,920.
