Senior Civil CAD Designer
to join our Site Development Team in Austin. The ideal candidate will have deep technical experience in Civil 3D and a passion for producing high-quality, efficient site development plans. This is a hands-on design position involving technical drafting, CAD standards oversight, and collaboration with engineers and project managers throughout the lifecycle of land development projects. Key Responsibilities Produce detailed civil engineering drawings using
AutoCAD Civil 3D , including grading, utilities, drainage, and roadway plans Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings Set up and manage sheet sets, drawing databases, and Civil 3D data shortcuts Draft engineering plans based on verbal instructions, redlines, and conceptual sketches Maintain and enforce CAD standards across all projects Support construction documentation, including preparing field-ready drawing sets Archive technical documentation per Mahoney Engineering protocols Communicate and coordinate with engineers, project managers, and team members Contribute to mentoring junior CAD staff as needed Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 8
years of experience
in civil drafting/design for land development Advanced proficiency in
AutoCAD Civil 3D , including pipe networks, surfaces, profiles, data shortcuts, and corridor modeling Solid understanding of construction design methods Familiarity with XREFs and document management systems Strong organizational and communication skills Experience with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook) Post-secondary education in Drafting Technology or Civil Engineering Technology preferred Hourly Range:
$35.00 – $51.00/hour Annual Equivalent:
