A law firm seeks an experienced Partner/Of Counsel to join its General Liability team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills, and will thrive in a collaborative and supportive work environment. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of attorneys and staff, providing a professional yet relaxed atmosphere.
Duties
Independently handle files from open to close, supervising associates and staff. Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action. Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs. Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours. Regularly represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions. Draft and respond to discovery requests. Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses. Prepare for and attend trials; some travel may be required. Requirements
Minimum of 9+ years of civil litigation experience, focusing on personal injury defense and/or transportation. Experience handling civil cases from start to finish. Proficient in taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and experts. Skilled in drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials. Experience in negotiations and mediations. Admitted to practice in the state of GA; additional states are a plus. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong research abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong work ethic, self-management, and teamwork capabilities. Responsive to email and phone inquiries. Excellent client skills and telephone manner. Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships. No portable book of business required, but a plus. Education
J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school. Certifications
Admitted to practice law in Georgia. Skills
