Explore a career in engineering as a Digital Design Engineer in San Diego, CA. What You'll Do Research, design, and develop digital designs related to multi-function software defined radios and automated test equipment. Test proposed designs using evaluation boards. Implement digital FPGA hardware architecture and algorithms. Collaborate with Systems Engineering to ensure firmware designs meet system requirements. Review designs and perform analysis. Potentially lead a team of Digital VHDL engineers. This position is contingent upon program award and final clearance. It may be considered at a higher grade based on experience. Basic Qualifications for Principal Digital Engineer Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of digital verification engineering experience (3 years with MS, none with PhD). Hands-on FPGA design experience with VHDL within the past 3 years. Experience with AMD/Xilinx 7 series or Versal devices. Experience with EDA tools: Vivado and QuestaSim. Final DoD Secret clearance required; US Citizenship necessary for security clearance. Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Digital Engineer Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 9 years of digital verification experience (7 years with MS, 4 with PhD). Same FPGA and EDA experience as above. Final DoD Secret clearance; US Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading and mentoring teams. Knowledge of DSP, MATLAB, Simulink. Experience with Quartus EDA tools. Knowledge of FPGA physical constraints and timing closure. Experience with system-level debug and formal VHDL verification. Active/Current DoD Secret or higher clearance. Salary Range $118,000.00 - $177,000.00 (general guideline; actual offer depends on various factors) Additional benefits include potential bonuses, health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, and PTO.
