HD Biosciences, a WuXi AppTec company, is seeking a director-level candidate responsible for leading the in vivo pharmacology team to provide scientific services to enable drug discovery and development against cancer and other disease areas. This key position should be based in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of scientists and technicians with positive energy. Manage daily operations, ensuring study efficiency, quality, and compliance. Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, addressing their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction. Envision scientific breakthroughs and industry trends, and build new pharmacological capabilities accordingly. Proactively participate in business strategic planning and implementation. Align timely with senior management in strategies and work closely with different global teams to form synergy. Qualifications
Ph.D. or/and MD in biomedical discipline. Minimum of 6 years in pharmacology, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry. Comprehensive knowledge of drug discovery and development against cancer, esp. in preclinical pharmacology and regulatory requirements. Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with Mandarin as a plus. Understanding in other disease areas beyond oncology is a plus. Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions. Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards / Chemicals Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility Must be able to wear appropriate PPE Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels Ability to stand /sit/walk for long periods of time Ability to Lift 10 lbs. routinely Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach Ability to push/pull 10 lbs. routinely/ often / occasionally Clarity of Vision Ability to identify and distinguish colors Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions Anticipated base pay range: $152,548 to $213,219 An Equal Opportunity Employer.
