Description
Job Summary:
The Senior Procurement Agent is responsible for managing purchasing activities, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring efficient procurement operations. This role involves handling purchase orders, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. The team may also be responsible for sourcing services and rentals in addition to supplies. Additionally, Procurement Agents contribute to supply chain management by monitoring stock status, ongoing evaluation of stocking levels, and assisting with project planning. They also play an administrative role in post-purchase support, including the setup of OEM warranties and oversight of warranty processes.
As a Senior Procurement Agent this position will be responsible for:
- Utilizing their knowledge and familiarity as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in meaningful ways,
- Providing insight and influence on department decision making for process development and on-going improvement
- Contributing to solving complex problems within their department on a Ground and Operational level
- Behaving in a manner that positively contributes to team dynamic and acts as encouragement and mentorship for the team
- Typically handles complex tasks with minimal/no supervision with autonomy for decision making within their task
- Purchase Order Management: Create, process, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods, services, and equipment.
- Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and service.
- Negotiation & Sourcing: Identify and evaluate new suppliers, negotiate terms, and optimize procurement strategies for both supplies and services.
- Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure adherence to company policies and procurement best practices while identifying areas for operational improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams to understand procurement needs and provide strategic sourcing solutions.
- Supply Chain Support: Monitor stock status, assist in project planning, and evaluate stocking levels to ensure optimal inventory management.
- Post-Purchase Support: Manage the setup of OEM warranties and provide administrative oversight of warranty processes.
- Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports to support decision-making.
- Office-based environment.
Requirements
Preferred Skills:
- Purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in computer hardware, point-of-sale (POS) systems, network equipment, peripherals, and related tech components.
- Experience working with OEMs, distributors, and technology vendors.
- Knowledge of lead time forecasting, demand planning, and just-in-time (JIT) purchasing strategies.
- Understanding of life-cycle management for IT equipment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with warehouse operation teams.
- Understanding of hardware specifications, compatibility, and market availability.
- Familiarity with supply chain dynamics, vendor management, inventory control processes.
Salary Description
$21 - $28 / hr
