Senior Design Engineer
with a strong electrical engineering foundation to join our high-caliber team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on executing full electrical designs—not managing design teams but rolling up your sleeves and engineering the solution yourself. What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking an experienced engineer who thrives on technical depth and accuracy, values a collaborative environment, and is excited to work on some of the most cutting-edge renewable energy projects in the industry. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field • 3-5 years of experience designing utility-scale renewable energy systems (solar, energy storage, or hybrid projects ≥5MW) • Strong command of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and utility interconnection standards • Direct experience producing and modifying detailed electrical design packages from early-stage (30%) through IFC and as-built Proficiency in: • Experience conducting power system studies (e.g., short circuit, load flow, arc flash, protection coordination) is preferred • Comfortable working across multiple project timelines and scopes • Strong technical communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally • Located in or willing to commute to Denver on a hybrid schedule What You’ll Do: As a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll be a core contributor to the technical success of each project—taking lead responsibility for full electrical design packages, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and helping to drive high-quality deliverables from concept through commissioning. • Lead the detailed electrical design of solar and energy storage systems ≥10MW from 30% design through IFC and as-built • Produce, modify, and finalize electrical construction drawings (one-lines, three-lines, grounding, conduit/cable schedules, panel schedules, etc.) • Perform or support power system studies using ETAP, WinIGS, and related tools • Develop and review equipment specifications, bill of materials, and control schematics • Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to ensure integrated and constructible designs • Support AHJ permitting packages and utility interconnection submission • Assist with field engineering support during construction, including resolving RFIs and producing redlines • Contribute to commissioning documentation and as-built record drawings Notice: If you meet some, but not all the requirements for this position, we still encourage you to apply.
