SumBridge is hiring a Senior Pricing Analyst in a full-time permanent position with one of our south sound based clients. This is a permanently hybrid schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days remotely. The Senior Pricing Analyst works in a fast-paced setting, performs ad-hoc research and analysis, and works closely with both internal and external customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with Sales Team to negotiate and develop contract proposals and daily rate quotes, based on competitive pricing and logistic analysis.
- Develops contract tools to determine contract financial feasibility and/or compensatory margins.
- Prepares contracts and amendments for agreed upon rates.
- Defines and implements new business processes to create efficiencies for the pricing department and throughout the organization.
- Responsible for administration of FMC (Federal Maritime Commission) contracts/tariff filings to ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Responsible for ownership and administration of all company tariffs.
- Manages filings of tariff rules, policies, rates, accessorial fees, and general rate increases to meet regulatory deadlines.
- Provides analytical information to Container Management Team (CMT) regarding competitor activities including tariff rate action, accessorial charges, rules, and interpretation, using web tools and other industry resources.
- Summarizes and compares key commodity rate structures across multiple accounts and countries.
- Interfaces with the Logistics department to understand and develop timely cost-effective routing of cargo.
- Interfaces with the Accounting department for review and audits of bill of lading revenues.
- Interfaces with Customer Service Organization, Team Leads and Sales Staff to provide pricing advice relative to Customer inquiries.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of business experience in the Transportation or Logistics Industry preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, in written and oral form.
- Ability to make timely and sound decisions while demonstrating good judgement.
- Skill in communicating with multiple teams both domestically and internationally.
- Skill in being flexible and able to handle changing priorities over multiple priorities, tasks, and situations.
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple tasks successfully.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skill in use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Power BI and the ability to write or modify SQL queries would be a bonus.
- Strong reading comprehension with highly detail-oriented review and thought process.
- Analytical skills to provide an objective evaluation of alternatives and provide recommendations to management.
- Skill in self-managing and working in a team environment.
- Interpersonal skills required to work within an international business environment.
- Ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict regulatory and internal deadlines.
- Ability to reprioritize workload to meet immediate requirements.
- Skill in utilizing ERP tools preferred.
- Familiarity with the maritime and/or transportation industries desired but not required.
Compensation: $95-110k annually
