Salary Range : Undisclosed POSITION SUMMARY This position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring efficient and safe maintenance and repair of equipment, assigning tasks to mechanics, maintaining inventory, upholding quality standards while adhering to safety regulations, and ensuring work is completed within the parameters of the work order. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensures that his/her team performs with a positive attitude and a great sense of urgency in order to exceed customer expectations. Answers, prioritizes, and responds to service inquiries on shop work (new, used, rental, and customer trucks). Also communicates with customers on the status of repairs/inquiries daily. Coordinates shop jobs by creating work orders and assigning technicians to jobs based on their skill level. Reviews work in progress daily and communicates with technicians regarding outstanding shop work orders using the ERP system. Able to work with cross-functional groups to complete projects on time and within schedule. Collects information on customer disputes/complaints and forwards to the service manager for review. Reports work order aging and work in process for shop technicians to the Service Manager. Confers with the Service Manager to recommend changes for continued process improvement. Available for after-hours emergency service calls. Works with service technicians to determine labor repair requirements to provide customers with the best repair value and reasonable revenue. Knowledgeable of the internal operation system and uses the tools available to create quotes. Ensures quotes are done promptly, accurately, completely, and follow reasonable repair guidelines regarding parts, labor hours, and sublet repairs (as required). Develops procedures for tracking quote approval, subsequent parts orders, and establishing shop and field repair schedules (working with the Service Manager). Assists in administering the full performance management cycle (i.e., communicates job expectations/requirements; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees). Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; providing recommendations on cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections in inefficiencies. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Education:
Minimum High School Diploma Experience:
Extensive knowledge of equipment repair procedures and techniques. Other Requirements:
Good verbal/written communication and computer skills. Availability to work overtime and occasional emergency service/call-out events in the evenings or on weekends.
