Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Director for Plans and Operations / Project Manager for the Cadet Leadership Academy (CLA) The Director for Plans and Operations / Project Manager for the Cadet Leadership Academy (CLA) at the University of North Georgia serves as the principal architect and integrator for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all leadership development programs, events, and training activities that support the growth and readiness of the Corps of Cadets. This individual ensures strategic alignment between CLA, Army ROTC, UNG academic leadership and external military commands. The Director leads long-range planning efforts, designs and implements complex training operations, and manages high-visibility leadership development events that impact over 750+ cadets annually.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a single integrated operations process that includes long-range and short-term calendars for all CLA training events, courses, and leadership development activities in coordination with the Commandant of Cadets and ROTC leadership. Serve as the lead planner and operations officer for all CLA-related training events, including ceremonies, Gold Rush, Boar's Head Weekend, and Alumni Weekend. Create, refine, and enforce SOPs for training execution, risk mitigation, personnel coordination, and logistics operations in accordance with Army doctrine and university policy. Prepare and deliver briefs, written reports, and presentations to the CLA Superintendent, summarizing plans, assessments, and recommendations. Supervise subordinate planners, support staff, and student workers or facilitators; ensure they are trained, briefed, and effectively integrated into operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proven leadership in strategic planning and operations at the battalion level or higher. Extensive experience in Army or sister service operational doctrine (MDMP, TLPs, mission command). Ability to design and implement complex, multi-phase training and leadership programs aligned with institutional goals. Ability to Bridge the gap between ROTC, cadet training, and the university's academic mission.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Leadership, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Retired senior NCO (CSM/SGM) or field-grade officer (MAJ¿COL) with a background in training command, leadership development, or military academia. PMP certification is highly desirable.
