Firmware Test Engineer
to join our Industrial Automation R&D team in Andover, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and evaluating firmware to ensure the quality and reliability of software integrated into electronic hardware systems involving Ethernet communication protocols, 5G/WiFi technologies, and IoT solutions within the industrial sector. This position requires hands-on scripting, automation, and collaboration across multiple projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple assignments while maintaining high standards of quality. Responsibilities include:
Developing and executing automated and manual test scripts using frameworks like Robot Framework Identifying, tracking, and resolving software defects; collaborating with developers for improvements Maintaining and enhancing automation tools for efficient testing Supporting CI/CD processes, including automation, tool integration, and maintenance Documenting test plans, reports, and technical guides Debugging and troubleshooting hardware/software issues to ensure system performance Participating in Agile development, including sprint planning and test-driven development Contributing to innovation initiatives and process improvements Communicating technical concepts effectively to cross-functional teams Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field At least 3 years of experience in embedded firmware and/or 5G/WiFi testing Strong knowledge of various testing methodologies Proficiency in Python, Linux testing, and debugging in embedded environments Familiarity with C/C++, Robot Framework, and embedded OS like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks Understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols (e.g., OSI, 5G, WiFi) Knowledge of cryptographic concepts and cybersecurity features such as PKI Experience with Git, Wireshark, and Agile tools Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC What We Offer:
