Senior AI Architect
is responsible for designing and developing scalable AI solutions aligned with business strategies and benefits. They serve as an AI technical advisor and SME to help clients scale their AI programs. The AI Architect must understand how various business processes, operating systems, and application architectures work together to design AI solutions that meet environmental requirements. They take ownership of technology aspects of AI across the Microsoft ecosystem. The AI Architect will follow Avanade’s AI methodologies and industry best practices, recommending appropriate technology solutions, delivering architectural and technical designs, and preparing client proposals. Success in this role requires leveraging our global network (across Accenture, Microsoft, and partners), sharing ideas, knowledge, and resources openly. The candidate should be proficient in creating AI solutions that provide comprehensive insights and support successful business outcomes. The ideal candidate is an organized problem-solver with business acumen, capable of translating business needs into solutions. They will guide and support teams globally to deliver accessible GenAI solutions that address client problems. Prior management consulting and systems integration experience is strongly preferred. Relevant experience includes AI algorithms, hardware accelerators, machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, CUDA, ONNX, Caffe), computer vision, and Azure Data and AI services. A background in engineering, programming, software development, or application development is desirable. Key skills include data profiling, cataloging, mapping, building data pipelines, data streams, system integration, and preparing data for consumption. Proficiency in .NET, Python, and LLM solution architecture (Generative AI, Azure OpenAI), as well as experience with time-series and real-time data analytics, is important. Understanding data science and machine learning principles, along with DevOps, MLOps, SDLC, and Agile development, is also required. The candidate likely holds a master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, or machine learning, with equivalent experience. Certification as a MSFT Data Science Associate and 5-7 years in a similar role are expected. A cross-talent skillset encompassing management consulting, software architecture, infrastructure, and AI use case knowledge across industries (Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, Resources, etc.) is preferred. Strong communication, customer-facing skills, coding ability, and the capacity to see the big picture are essential. Willingness to travel as needed is also required. Compensation varies based on location, role, skills, and experience. For example, in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Philadelphia, the starting range is USD 163,000 to 193,800, while in Baltimore and Boston, it is USD 168,800 to 200,450. Daily responsibilities include: Facilitating team, client meetings, and pre-sales presentations. Partnering with AI, IoT, and Automation teams to translate business requirements into AI & IoT solutions. Analyzing processes, identifying AI opportunities, and recommending approaches based on client maturity. Estimating, designing, and helping deliver AI projects. Building AI assets and enabling stakeholders while growing capabilities. Supporting delivery as SME, Solution Architect, or Technical Architect. Providing best practices and quality assurance for AI projects.
