We are seeking an experienced power systems engineer to contribute to our Electrical Power and Distribution Subsystem (EPDS) team for various spacecraft programs. The successful candidate will support spacecraft power system development throughout the program lifecycle, working on national defense and civil space missions. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the EPDS department and support spacecraft power system development at each phase of the program lifecycle. Lead and own multiple spacecraft power system roles, including acting as the lead Electrical Power Systems engineer, Responsible Engineer for EPDS components, and developing new payload interface boxes. Support power system sizing, scheduling, procurement, and contribute to advancements in power system architectures. Represent the power systems team in program meetings, ensuring mission needs are met. Maintain a regular work schedule and foster effective working relationships across teams and departments. Perform other duties as necessary. Work Environment & Conditions
This position requires on-site presence at least three days per week, with potential travel between company campuses. Work may be performed in offices, laboratories, cleanrooms, outdoors, or remote environments, sometimes requiring protective gear. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; higher degrees may substitute for experience. Active TS/SCI security clearance. At least 4 years of direct experience in spacecraft electrical power subsystem engineering, testing, or operations. Strong technical foundation, communication skills, and a desire to learn. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries, solar arrays, power control/distribution, power conversion, and related tools like PSPICE or MATLAB. Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $130,355 - $221,603, based on market and candidate qualifications. Benefits include health, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), disability, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, and other perks. About BAE Systems
