Job Summary
Summary
Responsible for providing essential support to patients and nursing staff in a hospital setting. This role ensures the provision of high-quality patient care, focusing primarily on assisting medical staff, monitoring patient health, and managing patient information. This role also enhances patient satisfaction through effective communication skills, care coordination, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient well-being.

Essential Functions
-Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility. Provide basic care, including turning, repositioning, and toileting assistance.
-Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Report any abnormalities to the supervising nurse.
-Promote patient comfort and respond to patient calls and needs promptly. Assist with pain management, emotional support, and ensuring patient dignity.
-Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by ensuring cleanliness, proper use of medical equipment, and adherence to infection control protocols.
-Accurately document patient care activities, observations, and vital signs in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
-Collaborate with the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and other support staff, to ensure cohesive patient care. Relay relevant information regarding patient conditions and concerns.
-Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, and monitoring devices.
-Safely transport patients to different departments within the hospital and assist with patient positioning during procedures.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Nursing Assistant (Certified Patient Care Technician) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required
Experience
Experience with patient care or medical assisting in a hospital or healthcare setting. 1-2 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong ability to provide empathetic, patient-centered care with respect for patients' dignity and privacy.
- Ability to accurately monitor and document patient information and report any changes or concerns promptly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving patients, and standing for extended periods.
- Collaborative mindset to work efficiently with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to respond to patient needs and concerns with resourcefulness and initiative.
