Job Title: Building Automation Project Manager Location: San Jose, CA Job Overview We seek an experienced and results-driven Building Automation Project Manager to lead the delivery of smart building control projects in the San Jose area. In this role, you will manage all phases of building automation system (BAS) projects—from design coordination and planning to installation, commissioning, and final handoff. The ideal candidate has a strong background in building controls and HVAC systems, excellent project leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering innovative, energy-efficient solutions that enhance building performance and sustainability. Key Responsibilities Manage the full lifecycle of BAS projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, field technicians, and clients to define project requirements and technical specifications. Lead scheduling, resource planning, and coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. Oversee field execution, installation, system integration, testing, and commissioning of building automation and control systems. Monitor project milestones, prepare status updates, and ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, change orders, and closeout reports. Resolve technical issues in collaboration with field teams and provide support for troubleshooting and QA/QC activities. Stay current on BAS technologies, control strategies, industry codes, and energy efficiency best practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Automation, Construction Management, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience managing BAS, HVAC controls, or MEP-related projects. Hands-on experience with building automation systems from platforms such as Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, or Johnson Controls. In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, DDC controls, low-voltage wiring, networking, and system integration. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel), and familiarity with AutoCAD or Bluebeam. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work on-site and manage multiple active projects in a fast-paced environment. PMP certification or equivalent training is a plus. Why Join Us?
