Job Summary:

The Sr. Application Engineer will provide technical support to current and potential customers, both remotely and on-site. The position requires a strong understanding of product applications and independent work.

Reports to: Product Line Manager

Essential Duties:

• The Sr. Application Engineer will write application notes and training materials.
• Serve as the first point of contact for the Technical Sales Support team on application questions.
• Test products in relevant applications.
• The Sr. Application Engineer will interact directly with customers remotely and in person for application inquiries.
• Create marketing content with input from Sales, Customer interactions, and the Marketing Communications team.
• Attend industry conferences and participate in relevant societies.
• The Sr. Application Engineer will conduct webinars and customer training seminars.
• Support sales teams in product acceptance, answering technical queries, providing product training, and assisting with large or complex proposals.

Requirements:

• The Sr. Application Engineer must hold a BS in Electrical Engineering
• Must have 8+ years of previous experience with gensets, with automatic voltage regulators and control system s.
• Must have experience serving the Power Generation, Paralleling Switchgear, Utility T&D or Industrial Power markets is also a plus.
• This position is that of a sales engineer selling gensets that go on a generator from an application standpoint.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• The Sr. Application Engineer must have experience with power systems and power system simulation software.
• Interest in evolving power system technologies like DC power, DERs, IBRs, BESS, and microgrids.
