$28.00/hr - $42.00/hr Position Summary
The SUDP(T) clinician at Recovery Place Seattle Inpatient Services is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing Trauma-informed care that is recovery-oriented and person-centered. The clinician delivers SUD treatment services to inpatient residents, utilizing an abstinence-based approach and evidence-based practices in accordance with ASAM criteria and Valley Cities’ policies and practices. The clinician provides SUD assessments, individual and group treatment, psychosocial education groups, crisis services and relapse prevention along with case management services to patients who have a Substance Use Disorder diagnosis. The SUDP(T) is a member of a clinical team that ensures a strong recovery environment, person-centered wellness, and integrated care to meet the resident’s individual needs while assuring that appropriate treatment services are provided. The SUDP(T) works with program managers to assure quality clinical service and contract performance through direct clinical work.
SUDP(t) Scale : $27.70-$35.75
Fully Licensed Scale : $32.31-$42.02

Essential Job Functions
Provide at least one motivational counseling session for each patient admission, attempting to engage patient in continuing treatment and linking patients to appropriate resources. Conduct groups as needed, employing motivational interviewing and other evidence-based practices and maximizing peer interaction among patients. Complete ADATSA chemical dependency assessments on priority clients in accordance with ASAM PPC and organizational policy and practices. Coordinate daily patient chemical dependency education sessions, request on-line ADATSA assessments, and oversee case management as required in county contract. Collaborates with detox staff in appropriate patient care, treatment planning and treatment referral. Call in involuntary commitment specialist and crisis response professionals as appropriate to coordinate address treatment needs of patients. Record patient notes within 24 hours of contact, recording date of session, duration of session, description of topic addressed and signature. Maintain patient files in accordance with organizational procedures and relevant laws and regulations. Attend staff meetings and participate in training as assigned. Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Education :
Current certification by Washington State Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional – (SUDP) or Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee – (SUDPt) High School Diploma
Experience:
Understanding of and familiarity with addiction, withdrawal, and treatment resources for recovery.
Prefer someone who has 1,000+ hours
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Maintain current certifications in first aid and CPR and provide evidence of TB testing at least annually. Ability to deal assertively and effectively with patient conflicts and conduct verbal de-escalation intervention. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and setting a positive example of behaviors for patients. Basic computer skills, including Windows, Word and Outlook, and able to keyboard intermittently approximately 2 hours a day. Participate collaboratively and professionally in a team environment Maintain professional demeanor at all times with patients, visitors, other agency staff, and community agency representatives. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information in accordance with 42 CFR, 45 CFR, RCW 70.96A, and related patient health care laws and regulations.
Working Conditions
Direct nursing care requires the ability to lift, push, pull, twist, stoop, lift up to 50lbs without assistance. Most work takes place in usual office working conditions, where the noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises. Perform duties of a nurse as needed, which will include exposure to hazardous materials (such as body fluids, needle sticks). Seniority level
