General Statement of Duties
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of integrated math instruction. The candidate must possess the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of teachers, school based administrators, and central office staff. District Math Coach responsibilities include coaching, curriculum writing, modeling lessons, and delivering evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions. Candidates must possess the ability to plan, organize, and coach instructional best-practices utilizing state standards, division curriculum, and student data in order to increase student achievement.
Support location will be determined by the Director of Teaching and Learning and the Educational Specialist for Middle School Math.
This is an 11-month/239 day position with a July 14, 2025 start date ( Annual salary will be prorated based on the actual start date).
Essential Duties
The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Professional Program Duties and Expectations:
- Serves as a district math leader to support schools with the implementation of best practices.
- Supports implementation of the middle school math county curriculum.
- Assists with curriculum writing and the implementation of culturally relevant plans and curriculum.
- Collects and analyzes district data to determine areas needing support in the core program.
- Meets with school teams to analyze and interpret school and teacher level data, utilizing this analysis to identify intervention supports needed.
- Assists the specialist, principal, and the school improvement team in planning and implementing the school's effort to increase the proficiency of math skills for all students.
- Provides supports and assists schools with planning instructional activities for all students, demonstrating knowledge of the subject matter, instructional practices, and intervention supports.
- Visits classrooms with the specialist and/or administrator to help identify strengths and deficiencies of math practices.
- Provides professional learning related to math for the district and individual schools.
- Demonstrates the ability to plan, model, and deliver current research-based best practices and interventions in math instruction and be able to assess student responsiveness to those interventions.
- Provides demonstrations and models of effective math and intervention practices.
- Assists teachers with the development and implementation of instructional strategies that support differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Incorporates and models appropriate use of technology to support math instruction and student learning.
- Stays abreast of current educational trends and best practices.
- Attends professional development and specified training to enhance math content and pedagogical skills (some will occur during the summer).
- Maintains a professional manner when interacting with students, parents, patrons, community agencies, and colleagues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
This vacancy is for the 2025-26 school year.
Minimum annual salary*: $69,419.81 (Masters) & $72,752.19 (Doctorate)
