Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program Licenses/Certifications:
Current Basic Life Support certification; Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Experience/Knowledge/Skills: New Grad: 0 years Surg Tech I: 1 year Surg Tech II: 2-4 years Surg Tech III: 5+ years Principal Accountabilities Support the unit's goals by serving as a resource specialist in assigned operating room areas/specialty services. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of aseptic techniques, advanced surgical practices, and patient care for all clients. Verify the availability of necessary supplies/instruments/equipment before surgical procedures based on the surgeon's preference card. Ensure safe patient care while adhering to policies, procedures, and established standards. Facilitate your professional growth by meeting education and skills competency requirements; mentor less experienced staff and provide orientation and in-service training. Demonstrate a commitment to compassionate and personalized patient care by modeling Memorial Hermann’s service standards. Perform other duties as assigned.
