We go beyond the four corners of a tax return or financial statement to provide our clients with forward thinking for their financial future. Our holistic approach to client services leverages us to be a trusted advisor to businesses, non-profits, and high-net-worth individuals. The successful candidate will work directly with Partners, Directors and Managers at the firm to provide tax services to our clients. You will be directly working with clients, actively advising them and helping them plan for their financial future. Responsibilities/Requirements Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, single member LLCs, non-profits and trusts Review financial records such as prior tax return forms, income statements, and documentation of expenditures to determine forms necessary to prepare each return Strong willingness and eagerness to learn new technical subject areas, perform research as needed Reviews QuickBooks files for business tax returns and makes journal entries as needed to prepare tax returns Assist CPAs and EAs to address government notices and occasional tax audits Work directly with Partners, Directors and Managers to service clients, gather necessary documentation, follow up on missing info and communicate tax outcomes. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or at a minimum minor in Accounting Minimum 3 years of experience working in Tax Location The firm has offices in Glendale and Encino. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days per week in-office. You can choose to work from either office. Title Both Associate and Senior Associate titles available depending on experience Compensation This is an hourly position that ranges from $37-$50/hour depending on experience Overtime is paid at 1.5x, and this position typically works about 100 hours of overtime per year, mostly from Feb-Apr and Sept-Oct. With overtime, this position would range from a little over $80k per year to $110k Performance-based bonuses Benefits Offered Health Insurance - 100% covered for employee Dental Insurance - 100% covered for employee Life insurance is covered by the firm after 6 months of service Healthcare reimbursement account (FSA) at employee’s expense if they opt-in 401(K) plan with employer contributions Three weeks of paid time off per year for the first 5 years of service. Increases to 4 weeks per year after 5 years. 40 hours of sick time 9/80 schedule for half the year. We work normal workweeks during tax season (including extension season) and the rest of the year employees may choose to opt-in to a 9/80 schedule, which means you work 9-hour days on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; every-other Friday you alternate between an 8-hour day, and a full day off. This provides for a 3-day weekend every-other week, while still getting 80-hours into a bi-weekly period. Seniority level
