Overview
You have: 15+ years of experience in engineering, with
3+ years in high-impact roles
(CTO, founder, or senior tech lead) in high-caliber infra startups or infra-driven orgs Shipped and scaled
infra-heavy systems
used by hundreds of thousands (ideally millions) of users or devices Mastery of
systems design ,
distributed architectures , and
data pipelines. Deep understanding of modern
cloud infra , storage, DevOps, and unit economics at scale A track record of
hiring, growing, and leading senior technical teams Strong
technical judgment : can move
fast
and think
outside the box
to find solutions Comfortable representing tech in
VC calls , investor Q&As, and technical public speaking Bonus: Familiarity or experience with
AI infra ,
Web3 primitives ,
residential IP networks ,
proxy companies , or
DePIN
Key Responsibilities
Vision & Tech Strategy: • Set a unified roadmap (infra, data, scalability) that tracks directly to the business vision and Hub’s evolving B2B Demand Pipeline. • Spot paradigm shifts, AI, data at scale, DePIN, programmable bandwidth, and spin up PoCs when needed, then turn proven bets into production-ready, at-scale solutions. • Select and manage technology partners (cloud, GPU hardware, open-source Web3) to maximise efficiency and control cost.
Scalable Architecture & Infrastructure: • Design and document an ultra-robust, massively-scalable network & infrastructure capable of moving from zero to millions of devices while maintaining high availability, resilience and B2B-driven scraping capacity. • Oversee a petabyte-scale data pipeline: ingest, store and deliver both real-time and batch feeds with best-in-class unit economics. • Lay the operational foundation, monitoring, observability and automated deployments, to support friction-free growth. • Define the cloud / hybrid strategy in line with cost and regulatory constraints, and approve stack & pattern choices (languages, micro-services, databases, caches…).
Governance & Org Tech: • Hire, inspire and grow a multi-disciplinary team (backend, data, DevOps, etc). • Maintain Lean/Agile rituals, clear KPIs, OKRs, and a disciplined, predictable delivery culture. • Industrialise the SDLC (CI/CD, automated tests, quality gates) and own production KPIs (SLO, MTTR). • Steer budget, total cost of ownership and up-skilling in lock-step with the roadmap.
Data Products, R&D & Market Feedback: • Translate customer needs into precise technical requirements (formats, SLAs, integrations) in partnership with Sales & Data, ensuring deal-winning compatibility and long-term maintainability. • Run a continuous R&D loop: explore, prototype and benchmark new tactics/tools (scraping, compression, delivery) and feed the winners straight into the roadmap. • Prioritise by ROI, select options with the best business-value vs complexity/time ratio to optimise unit cost and time-to-value.
Technical Face & Social Proof: • Position Hub as an industry leader: publish Linkedin/Twitter articles, research notes, videos and talks. • Amplify Hub’s current credibility, draw on your A-player track record and network to bring in senior talent, strategic partners and additional investors. • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for investors: join advanced VC calls, run deep-dives, provide concise DD tech packs
Compliance & Security: • Guarantee GDPR/CCPA compliance and data protection across Hub’s global residential-IP network. • Embed security-by-design: audits, continuous pen-testing, threat-modelling, documented DR plans. • Run regular DR drills and keep the continuity plan fully tested and current.
