Overview Annual Salary (depending on skills/experience):
$46,592.00 - $64,601.54
Scope:
Professionally greets and welcomes patients and their friends/family. Registers and schedules appointments efficiently. Answers, screens, and directs all incoming calls, relaying messages between patients and clinical staff. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.
Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously.
Check in patients, inform clinical staff of arrivals, and provide paperwork for completion.
Collect, verify, and file patient forms; update demographics and insurance info.
Collect co-pays and balances, providing receipts.
Answer, screen, and respond to routine questions; route calls or take messages.
Check out patients after examinations and schedule follow-up appointments.
Provide appointment details, record cancellations, and reschedule as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.
Perform general administrative tasks like filing and maintaining supplies.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Complete required e-learning courses within 90 days.
Physical Demands Requires sitting, standing, talking, hearing, handling, lifting up to 40 lbs, and manual dexterity. Reasonable accommodations available.
Work Environment Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and radiation. Involves in-person interaction and minimal travel.
