Position Type: Student Support Services/School Nurse Date Posted: 3/21/2025 Location: Westmont High School Date Available: August 2025 Closing Date: Open until filled Description: Registered Nurse Full-time position, 7 hours per day (1.0 FTE) Work student attendance days Qualifications: RN nursing degree from an accredited college or university Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois Current CPR/AED certification 2 years nursing experience in pediatrics, adolescent, community, and/or mental health preferred Illinois certification as a vision and hearing screening technician Primary Responsibilities: Assess, interpret and provide health care, in both general and in emergency situations, to students and staff in order to address safety and health concerns. Administer medications, perform procedures and treatments in order to support student health and well-being. Collaborate with the student, parents, medical and school personnel to manage student's healthcare in the school environment, which may include creating care plans. Schedule organize, record and oversee various heath assessments, making appropriate referrals and follow-up when necessary, in order to support healthy learning. File state and local mandated reports and maintain accurate student health records and staff reports in order to comply with health and safety laws. Provide health-related training for school personnel in order to support student health and/or remain compliant with federal, state, and district regulations. Serve as a resource to comunity health services for families and staff in order to address and support health needs. Participate in professional development in order to maintain licensure, grow professionally in the field and meet the requirements of the district. Compensation: $25.00 per hour and benefit eligible as per the Wesmont Education Support Personnel Associations' contract.
