Within policy guidelines established by the Board of Directors, the terms of the Purchase of Service Agreement, and licensing requirements, the Educational Director is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the total program of day care services to families and children. Responsibilities include coordination and supervision of all program components, such as intellectual growth, health and social services, nutrition, staff development, community outreach, parent involvement, fiscal management, and facilities management. The Educational Director shall consult with supervisory staff to make informed decisions. Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain quality standards of education and nurture of children throughout the center’s operation. Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage. Record and monitor each child's behavior and progress for planning and referrals. Help staff understand the community and the center’s mission. Plan and participate in recruitment to increase enrollment. Supervise staff according to policies and procedures. Facilitate staff development through conferences, meetings, and observations. Maintain positive relationships with staff and parents. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and center activities. Ensure expenditures stay within budget and maintain fee collections. Oversee financial records and reports with the Bookkeeper. Act as liaison with the local Corps, DOH, DOE, and other agencies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, NYC DOE platforms, and Teaching Strategies required. Must have MS or MA, valid NY Teacher’s Certification (N-6 or Birth-2), and relevant experience. Demonstrate leadership and cooperative skills, and be willing to pursue training for skill enhancement. Additional Details:
