This role is with a rapidly growing SaaS/cloud-based software business specializing in market-leading energy trading & risk management software used by energy majors, investment banks, hedge funds, and utilities. The Senior Sales Engineer / PreSales Consultant will join their US team, based in New York City or Houston, and work as a subject matter expert alongside the US sales director to prepare and deliver demos to prospective clients. The role involves some travel, approximately 4 days per month, primarily for face-to-face client demos, with occasional overnight stays. The company is expanding its revenue significantly year-on-year, and this position is crucial for supporting new business development through demos, not direct sales. Salary is flexible, circa $175-225k base, plus uncapped commission, 2% of sales (average deal size $600k), and discretionary annual bonuses, with total compensation around $300k. Key skills include: Experience in energy trading software, systems integration, or ETRM services consultancy, with a focus on energy trading markets and software implementation. Strong understanding of energy trading concepts, credit, market risk, swaps, options, etc. Previous presales or sales engineering experience, especially in preparing and presenting demos to energy trading clients. Some software configuration skills, including SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel. US passport, Green Card, or valid visa to work in the US (no sponsorship provided).
