Job Summary
The Fitness Trainer is responsible for providing a safe and effective exercise environment for club Members/Guests through supervision of exercise programs, education of the Members/Guests in exercise, and establishing personalized exercise programs for each Member/Guest.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Supervise the exercise and fitness areas of the club, assisting Members/Guests with their exercise and fitness programs.
- Evaluate Member/Guest fitness needs and provide appropriate exercise programs, including personal instruction.
- Conduct new Member FitStart appointments and track progress.
- Update fitness activities and programming on the club's web page and/or communication boards.
- Process all accounting procedures around personal training and group sessions accurately.
- Submit monthly forecasts for sessions, Fit Starts, and new client goals.
- Maintain current fitness certifications including CPR/AED and pursue new educational opportunities.
About You
- Effective communication skills with proper grammar.
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple tasks.
- Maintain good conduct and safe working habits, ensuring equipment safety.
- Minimum of one year's experience in the fitness or exercise industry.
- College degree in health, fitness, or recreation preferred.
- Certification in CPR/AED and from recognized national organizations (e.g., ACSM, ACE, NASM).
- Minimum of 5 hours of fee-based work weekly.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
