The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is currently seeking a fulltime faculty member who is board certified/eligible in transplant hepatology.
Job Description:
The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is currently seeking a fulltime faculty who is board certified/eligible in transplant hepatology (i.e. has completed transplant hepatology fellowship) to work in our Vanderbilt Hepatology and Liver Transplant Center.
The Vanderbilt Liver Transplant Program is one of the largest in the country and performs 120-150 liver transplants per year. It is located in the wonderful city of Nashville. The transplant hepatology and transplant surgery groups at Vanderbilt are very collegial and exceptionally supportive of each other.
The goals of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition are to provide outstanding medical care to persons with diseases of the liver and gastrointestinal tract, to train gastroenterology and liver transplant fellows, and to perform cutting-edge biomedical research to improve our understanding of digestive and liver diseases. We have over 60 full time faculty in the division including research and clinical faculty.
Position Details :
Title : Assistant or Associate Professor
Track : Clinician-educator track.
Clinical Responsibilities :
- Providing patient care in general hepatology and transplant hepatology clinics.
- Shared coverage of the inpatient hepatology service with 6 other transplant hepatologists.
- Performing endoscopy primarily on hepatology patients.
No coverage of GI service or GI consults is included in this job.
Academic Opportunities :
Teaching and working with medical students, residents, gastroenterology fellows, and transplant hepatology fellows.
Clinical research is fully supported.
The compensation and benefits are very competitive. There will be a faculty appointment at Vanderbilt School of Medicine as part of the job.
Qualifications
Requirements:
•Completion of a Medical Doctor Degree
•Completion of a gastroenterology fellowship
•Eligible for a Medical License in the State of Tennessee Board Certification/eligible in transplant hepatology
