The MRI Technologist operates specialized MRI equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures, utilizing technical judgment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with protocols and patient needs. Key Responsibilities: Perform MRI imaging procedures and properly position patients and coils for optimal imaging. Educate patients about the procedure, imaging area, and specific instructions. Review patient safety questionnaires before MRI scans. Label MRI images per departmental SOP. Evaluate image quality and transmit images to PACS promptly. Complete all studies and documentation in the Radiology Information System (IDX) in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment, including linen management. Manage supplies and accessories required for imaging procedures. Accurately record and schedule patient information in IDX. Report equipment repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisors. Assist physicians as needed and coordinate inpatient calls. Perform clerical duties when support personnel are unavailable. Adhere strictly to safety guidelines to prevent ferromagnetic materials entering the MRI scan room. Follow infection control policies to protect self, patients, and staff. Participate in professional development and in-service training sessions. Maintain required licensure and certifications according to Public Health Code regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. accredited Radiologic Technology program. NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology. ARRT MRI Registry certification (Note: ARRT MRI license is required; ARMIT not accepted). Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. About HonorVet Technologies
