Overview We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. Responsible for assisting the credit union President in the overall management of the credit union. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the financial health, performance, and regulatory compliance of the credit union. This role oversees all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, audits, and investments, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, regulatory standards and with the best interest of our members, the employees, and the credit union. Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the primary financial steward of the credit union, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP). Ensure full compliance with internal policies and all applicable federal and state regulations. Act as the liaison for regulatory exams and audits, including preparation and response coordination. Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Board of Directors, senior management, NCUA, and other required entities. Lead preparation and submission of the quarterly NCUA Call Report. Manage and report on financial areas such as liquidity, Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL), ALM and FHLB requirements, to the Board of Directors, senior management and Supervisory Committee as needed. Advise on growth objectives, operational efficiencies, and profitability benchmarks. The CFO will measure, monitor, and mitigate risk in alignment with the credit union’s mission and our overall strategic goals. Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the executive team, ensuring alignment with the strategic plan. Collaborate with the President/CEO to evaluate financial trends, implement new products and services, and assess the performance of current offerings. Participate as a standing member of the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO), Management Team, IT Steering Committee, and Compliance Team. Oversee daily and weekly liquidity management, investment activities, and portfolio monitoring, including booking, accounting, and safekeeping of securities. Perform all tax related reporting for the credit union as required by state, federal and regulatory bodies. Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll in compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies. Administer member account programs, including garnishment, levy, and dormant/escheatment processes. Support the development and continuous improvement of operational procedures to enhance service quality and efficiency to members. Foster a motivated, high-performing finance team through effective leadership and employee relations. Approve loans within delegated authority as needed and support loan decisioning processes in accordance with the Loan Policy. Provide Saturday Supervisory coverage on a rotating basis. Perform other duties as assigned to support the credit union’s mission and operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a credit union, bank, or other regulated financial institution. Strong knowledge of GAAP, NCUA regulations, and other financial industry compliance standards. Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and risk management. Proven success leading audits, regulatory exams, and financial reporting. Advanced analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Experience with investment portfolio management and liquidity planning. Familiarity with CECL, Call Reporting, FHLB, and payroll/tax compliance is highly desirable. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office including Word and PowerPoint. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners. Commitment to the values and mission of the credit union.
